Eric Griffin: Banks Was fun to finally get into this one. Agreed it was very well done, don’t come across beers like this too often these days in terms of their mastery of core ingredients. Reminded me a lot of Wax Wing’s For Alex. Nice hearing from you man, cheers!

Nose feels sherry-influenced; fruit-forward, dry. Undertones of tobacco. Palate also brings a lot of dried fruit, w/ increasing smoke as it opens up. Subtle flavors of spiced fruit & leather. Not overly heavy, w/ a dangerously smooth, warming finish.

Choco-Strawberry-banana smoothie on the nose. Punch of acidity from the berries cuts the banana sweetness nicely. Cocoa nibs on the backbone adds dryness and lifts a roasty, earthy character from the malt. Nice layered balance. Bitterness, warmth linger.

Boozy cold brew. Subdued bitterness from the roast is contrasted by chocolatey undertones. Barrel is subtle but brings hints of burnt toffee. Finish is warming but alarmingly smooth. Doesn’t hit at all like a nearly 15% stout. Thanks I guess, Seth E. ☕️
