Pretty good as a tropical hazy pale. Price point though… I reckon this beer deserves the 375ml treatment.

Pretty delicious. A little sweetness and a creamy/pillowy texture. Like the label says, it’s a bit of a fruit salad. Cantaloupe, passion fruit, lime zest. Some soft citrus. No overt bitterness, but tends to pink grapefruit.

Poured at room temperature and the head was extravagant. Milk chocolate, decent texture, a bit ashy.

Kenny IPA by Hargreaves Hill

Hoppy, resinous, piney bitter. Passion fruit and berries. On the astringent side. Herbaceous. Should have got a 4-pack. About a week old I reckon, hope it travels well.

Zeit (Cellar Series) by Põhjala

Simon Diaz is drinking a Zeit (Cellar Series) by Põhjala at Redwood Forest

Barley wine-like. Quite still and caramelly with a smooth body. A lot of red wine about it and without the sweetness you’d expect from port barrel aging. Herbaceous in its bitterness.

A lot of citrus/Citra in this, initially quite sweet, best coast IPA. Seems thick, heavy, low carbonation. LCI (just struck 5am).

Poured oily black with a brief tan head. Sweet heavy chocolate cake with a savoury molasses and caramelised plantain sauce. A bit of a round flavour like vanilla. Nice but not my fave. Room temp, 18 C; Sweetness 6/10

Wild Ale. Funky and acetic, honey softness, and some light smoke.

Simon Diaz is drinking an A Tale of Two Persimmons (2020) by The Rare Barrel at Redwood Forest

Had to remind myself of what a persimmon is. Waxy, sweet and squishy. Sort of like a Kangaroo Apple. You do not eat it like an apple. Beer is great. Smells sweet but is bitter/tart, kind of acetic, with wild pear and apple cider notes. Drying, tannic/wood

5.5% and I think it’s a good session IPA. Lots of flavour, full bodied, piney bitey bitter. Tropical fruits, melon and something I can’t quite place.

Yum. Some proper tart cranberry (I’m yet to find unsweetened dried cranberries in Oz, these were fresh presumably). Spritzy, a bit of barnyard. So drinkable. An imperial high alcohol barrel aged version of this… 🙀

I really like this. Fairy floss like sweetness (cotton candy if an American peep is listening) with a a long piney bitter finish. Along the way there’s a veritable fruit salad, or perhaps Aussie Pavlova, of fruits to enjoy. Nails the meringue imo. Good!

Nice and hoppy American style pale ale. Kind of lean in the body but quite slick at the same time. Dry and bitter, citrus and stone fruit.

Sweetness then quite sharply bitter. Marmalade and pine. I liked it better as it warmed and an initial cold ipa impression disappeared.

Has a lot of Belgian dubbel/tripel sweet ale about it. A lot of sweet spicy preserved fruit and cinnamon apple pie. Slightly bitter, herbaceous perhaps. This is 4 years old however.

What a good beer! I was a little leery about the price point, but now it makes sense. This beer is somebody’s baby. Rounded caramel, vanilla, warm apple sauce, & umami funk. ,

Easy drinking cherry sour. Not that bright medicinal cherry flavour, not sweet, but mildly sour and quenching.

This Doppelbock is on the dry stouty end. And delicious. Roasty dark bread crust, maybe smokey, a bit of sweetness that hides beneath a burnt bitterness. Good looking can to boot!
