Simon Diaz is drinking a Mechanical Bull by Range Brewing at Paradise Valley Hotel
I was smashed by my last mechanical bull (Sonoma County Fair, 2001?). This one is friendlier. Dam water yellow. Creamy/fluffy texture, peaches, tropical fruit salad, melon/mango/lychee. Pithy.
Simon Diaz is drinking a Not My First Rodeo by Range Brewing at Paradise Valley Hotel
Range Modern IPA. Hoppy and bright, quite weedy, tropical/stone fruit, with minimal piney bitterness.
Michael Z: Good joint?
Simon Diaz: Michael Z. It is very good for an outer-suburban pub. No pokies and good service. Menu is good, and they’re working hard on their craft range. Unexpected.

Very good creamy texture. Tropical. Coconut, a little citrus, and green mango. Pithy bitterness with a little herbaceous dandelion.

Simon Diaz is drinking an Air Ann by Mountain Culture Beer Co. at Redwood Tasting Room
So the smuggler’s name is Ann i suppose. Anchovy (stoopid hop name), with Simcoe & Mosaic. Good texture, nice yellow clay colour. Tropical with rounded edges. Coconut, vanilla. Pithy bitterness to finish. A bit sweet but no watermelon lollies. No fish.

Sweet-ish tropical oat cream. Nice thick hazy. Beer fridge in the Paradise Hotel bottleshop. Unexpectedly not terrible.
