Tons of bourbon/rye barrel & heat that mellows w/ time, opening up to brown sugar, molasses, raisins/dates, and tobacco. This BW serves as a heavy-bodied vessel for the barrels it's aged in; really hot, but it works with the dark, chocolatey malt.

Probably was a mistake to try this right after D18 and right before MJK, but this just tastes too boozy to me. Nose is all bourbon (in a good way), but the taste isn’t as complex as the normal SP barleywine.
