Shizumu

Shizumu 沈む (meaning: drowning) to look across the industry in this day and age, you’d be hard pressed to find this style amongst the rank and file brewery releases. Its path to prominence started on the Californian coast before completely upending an industry on the cusp of unmitigated growth. Read: it’s the beer many breweries made their bonafides with, before pivoting to the next trend. Today, amongst an ever-rising sea of uniformly hazy, juicy (and we admit delicious) IPAs, we see an opportunity to scratch an old itch.

Shizumu pours crystalline clear and is brimming with American hop character (Chinook, Cascade, and Centennial hops) by way of orange pith, ripe passion fruit and pleasant pine. Expect a clean hop bitterness and balanced malt backbone to cull these complementary flavours into an organized delight. Show Less
