This stout was not my fav. I generally like “Mexican chocolate” stouts but thus one was strange. I did get some solid chocolate up front w the roast but the finish went to a very odd spice note. Almost like anise mixed w clove. Which didn’t work for me.

Ok. Been finding this type of brew more challenging for brewers to dial in recently. Unfortunately, a similar issue befell this one. Very good pepper and decent dark chocolate, too, but got some very unexpected clove-like notes that sullied the mix. 3.75
