Seeing this is back on Draft I thought I'd dig out my OG bottle from the early release. Still tastes great.

BBE 15/8/17. Bottled 2014. Similar to the last one, plenty of flavour just dead as tank tops when it was poured. Full of flavour though, loads of whisky, smokey, peatiness. Getting some almondy marzipan/amaretto as it warms up.

Peaty and almondy. This aged bottle is incredibly complex, and wonderfully unique.

The oldest beer I have ever drank from brewing. Bottled 15/08/14. Lots of whisky, held up beautifully.

Earned the 2X (Level 26) badge!Ben L: Yes I grabbed a few of these old ones the other day. Think I might go back to see if I can still get the others I've not tried.
Joseph Sizeland: Great to get them. Can't wait to get a YBS Scotch Version. I worked there when some of these were released and I never managed to taste a bottle so can't wait to try them.
Ben L: I got a ybs scotch & an original one as well. Plus each of the 2014 ones 😂 not actually got around to trying them yet
Joseph Sizeland: Looking forward to your reviews!
Ben L: Haha, I sometimes feel like I do these kinds of beers a disservice. I can't get on with them if they're really heavy on the barrel aging, the more subtle ones I really like though. Looking forward to trying them all anyway.

RB backup. Mar 17 2015. Big peaty aroma. Fiery, dark and grappling with the senses, nose tingling and throat swelling with those sweet, oaky, oily flavours. Intense.

For a beer that was best before 15/8/2017, this was just brilliant.
