Septembre by Brett & Sauvage

Philip White is drinking a Septembre by Brett & Sauvage at Mondial de la Bière

A bit disappointed here as I barely get any of the expected flavors. No apple & pear, nor beets, but a yeasty & straightforward Sour Ale blend base beer. Decent acidity & mouthfeel nonetheless. Kind of a turn-off when you had Fausse Baie right before.

Fausse Baie by Brett & Sauvage

First of, the base beer blend is simply sensational. The craftmanship and the quality of the brewery really shines through this top shelf product. Beautiful mouthfeel releasing powerful yeasty & juniperus notes along with a subtle rose buds presence. Wow!

Patience & Fruition: Sumac by Reverence Barrel Works

Philip White is drinking a Patience & Fruition: Sumac by Reverence Barrel Works at Mondial de la Bière

Prominant and incisive acidity & tartness with a subtle yeasty backbone. Unfortunately, there is not much presence from the tequila barrel, nor from the sumac addition. Still has an interesting mouthfeel, even though I was expecti g a bit more here.

Roseale by Burdock Brewery

Gotta love Burdock! This two-year barrel-aged offering is clean, delicate and elegant and features some subtle grape notes, a slight acidity and a distant barrel feel. Would have expected a bit more depth and intensity provided by the lenghty oak passage.

A feel good mixed-culture brew with a lovely yeasty, dry & acidic profile. A delicate spice twist is noticeable with the addition of sumac. Elegant, well-structured and delightful offering from Wunderkammer. 🫶

Rich, complex and deep mouthfeel showcasing flavors of nuts, chocolate, coffee & roasted malt. Subtle maple touch toning down the alcohol intensity a bit. The whole is well balanced and nicely supported by a slick and oily texture. Wow!

This is a sick beer! Thanks Vitriol for the opportunity. Flawless balance between chocolate, roasted malt, dark coffee and vanilla flavors, and the robust whisky barrel presence. Slight alcohol feel with a smooth & rich mouthfeel. Solid banger!

I was excited for this one! Delicate and complex offering with the classic 3F signature mouthfeel I love so much. This beauty features an upfront sourness balanced with intense cherry and green apple flavors. Fruity, yeasty and delicious!

Philip White is drinking a Foeder-Lagered Rügen by Schilling Beer Co. at Mondial de la Bière

Lovely and surprisingly smooth for such a high ABV Lager. Thin-bodied and quite drinkable, it shows a nice profile of smoky and roasted malt flavors. Nothing to go nuts about, but fairly pleasant.

Finally had a chance to drink this mythical brew. I must say it is ridiculously drinkable for a 8% offering. Juicy and mainly on citrus and tropical fruits. It does taste pretty oldschool but I clearly see why it got so much hype at some point.

A bit sweet and grainy while the flavor profile is very much on cereals. Highly drinkable and refreshing Lager.

A good offering once again from GPF. Here we're obviously on a balanced & delicate Wild Ale putting forward prominent notes of strawberries & peaches, balanced by a smooth acidity and leading to a yeasty & clean finish. Pleasant & juicy mouthfeel. Lovely!

Even though I was expecting a bit more, it still very much suits my taste. Balanced, surprisingly smooth & slightly sweet with not too much alcohol presence. Rich coffee & roasted malt flavors along with some earthy, Cognac, molasses & licorice notes. 🤌

This became a Montreal Beer Fest tradition for me. Light-bodied, boozy & round mouthfeel with a stunning presence from the Widow Jane barrel. Complex, lingering & not too sweet with notes of caramel, wild fruits, roasted malt & coffee & dark chocolate.
