Jan Eerdekens is drinking a Black Damnation X - Double Wood (2018) by De Struise Brouwers at Café Pardaf
Balvenie is one of my favourite whisky producers and this is another good Black Damnation edition, but I can’t really distinguish the Balvenie part… but it is definitely whisky barrel aged. Chocolate, roasty coffee and woody warm alcohol.
Jan Eerdekens is drinking an Applescotch Crisp by The Bruery at Café Pardaf
This ticks all the boxes: rich, layered flavour bomb. Sweet deep caramel, actual apples (which I usually can’t detect) , cinnamon and a warm alcohol finish. Even some honey here and there. Perfect cold weather day beer.

Jan Eerdekens is drinking a SARRASKI by Laugar Brewery at Café Pardaf
Laugar just keeps bringing out heavy stouts that are totally my kind of beer. The PX barrels and plums make this a very rich and really tastefully layered beer. It surprisingly isn’t also too sweet.
Jan Eerdekens is drinking a Baltic Porter Day 2026 - Polish Forest by Nepo Brewing at Café Pardaf
A bit late for the actual ‘Baltic Porter Day’, but when it is still available you need to have one. Semi bitter chocolate, thicker and creamy body and something herbal in the aftertaste… which could be the pine.

A last beer before starting chemo round 11 and having to lay of the alcohol again for a week or 2. The finish is finally coming into view!
