Damm is a brewer from Barcelona whose main business activity is the production, bottling and distribution of beer, as well as other drinks including water, soft drinks, and milk. The company also has interests in other sectors, such as logistics and the hospitality industry.
Damm's history began in 1876, when August Kuentzmann Damm, his wife Melanie, and his cousin and master brewer, Joseph Damm, settled in Barcelona. They set up their first brewery at 27, Carrer de Viladomat in the city. They also opened the Gambrinus bar, near La Rambla, at a time when beer was an exotic luxury. In 1905, they opened the La Bohemia brewery on Carrer del Rosselló in Barcelona’s Eixample district. In 1910, SA Damm was founded.
In 1992, Damm moved its production to El Prat de Llobregat, on the outskirts of Barcelona, converting the Rosselló facilities into the company's headquarters and the Estrella Damm Old Brewery, a cultural landmark in the city.
Today Damm is a leading multinational company in the food and drink sector, present in more than 130 countries and with a workforce of almost 5,000 people. Show Less
