Egbert

Perception is a curious thing. Is seeing believing or is believing seeing? What lies beyond the pale? The featured beer in our rotating IPA (er, IPA "ish") series is named after Egbert, the doting husband of 19th century Memphis heiress Mollie Woodruff. What little we know of this man, we know he died in the family’s Victorian mansion in 1871 and many say he hasn't left. Like Egbert, his namesake India Pale Lager is a benevolent spirit that will haunt you, but in a good way. You may be scared by the intense hop aroma of grapefruit but FEAR NOT. Delicate pilsner malt supports the hefty dry hopping addition of Mandarina Bavaria and Azacca hops that offer up flavors of strawberry and pineapple, with an incredibly clean finish. Gone, like an apparition. Don't get too comfortable though, this beer conceals its BOOS very well. Show Less
