Phil B. is drinking a June IPA by Valley River Brewery and Eatery at The Parsons Pub
Very mild, not a lot of hop bite, but for antown of this size with two microbreweries, I'll take it with a smile.
Phil B. is drinking a Rosetta by Brewery Ommegang
I like the occasional fruit ale, particularly when the pickins are slim in the back of the fridge. Nice cherry flavor w/just a hint of ale.
Purchased at H G Hills
Phil B. is drinking a Picture Book by Bearded Iris Brewing
These folks make Nashville's best IPA's. This is a "West Coast Style" -- cloudy, lots of grapefruit, & nice body. Enjoy w/a big steak salad.
Phil B. is drinking a Chocolate Oatmeal Porter by Blue Pants Brewery
Nice body and not too sweet, this is gonna go down easy with some grilled chicken and flank steak.
Phil B. is drinking a Nothing Fancy by New Heights Brewing Company
Nice flavor for a cream ale...not too hoppy, and with a nice smooth finish. Enjoy one with a big ole baked tater.
Phil B. is drinking a Three Philosophers by Brewery Ommegang
Lots of natural bourbon notes arising from the Belgian yeast make this a nice pairing with a big bowl of spaghetti carbonara.
Phil B. is drinking an Ode To Mercy by Wild Heaven Beer
The directions on the can say to pour vigorously down the middle of the glass, & wow...it pours to a nice head & great flavor.
Phil B. is drinking a 1927 by Tennessee Brew Works
Too heavy on the grapefruit notes to be what I'd call perfect, but still of exceptional quality, enjoy 1 w/a pork loin just off the grill.
Phil B. is drinking a Great Horned Owl by Jackalope Brewing Company at Jackalope Brewing Company
Dark in color yet mild in flavor, but still with enough caramel and malty grain to give it a nice bite, enjoy one while waiting on a mtg.
Phil B. is drinking a Birra Moretti La Rossa by Birra Moretti at Porta Via Ristorante e Bar
A beer for the anniversary of our engagement, made more special because it's my favorite style: a dopplebock!
Phil B. is drinking a Catty Wompus by Devils Backbone Brewing Company
Slightly sour, which gives it the flavor of a Belgian ale, enjoy yours with a slice of Walmart pizza. Minus 1 point for being an InBev ale.
Phil B. is drinking a Samuel Adams Cold Snap by Boston Beer Company
From the "Beers You Find In the Back of the Fridge" series comes this example of a mild sweet ale. Enjoy yours when there's nothing on TV.
Phil B. is drinking a Mississippi Fire Ant Imperial Red by Southern Prohibition Brewing
Cloudy, pours to a nice head, and a wee bit of sweetness to balance out the hops. Enjoy yours with a hunk of salmon & rice.
Phil B. is drinking a Centennial IPA by Founders Brewing Co.
Nicely done...not overly hoppy, but still enough to know that it's there, plus great body means this pairs well with chicken thighs & rice.
Centennial was a favorite of mine for a bit, but tastes evolve, now it barely makes the top 10 IPA list, still deserves better than 3.5 tho.

Jim K. I don't necessarily disagree. It's a good IPA, and maybe I was a bit quick on the rating. I'll have to have another to conform.

Phil B. is drinking a Scatterbrain by Bearded Iris Brewing at Husk
Maybe Nashville's best ale, this cloudy IPA has a ton of flavor & body, & a smooth finish. The Bearded Iris folks know what they're doing.
