Aroma of tart cherry, some oak, a little caramelly malt. Taste is moderately sour, just a touch acidic. Less fruity and more tannic. Finish is fairly dry and a bit minerally. Good but needs more depth to the flavor to measure up to the Belgian classics

Sweet but not too sweet. There’s a current of sweet acidic fruit taste wrapped in smooth oaky bitterness

My longtime friend, vocalist, lyricist, writer & brewing/distilling alchemist: Wes Ashton. He turned 50 & we got to be part of a surprise gathering in his honor. Great Suarez courtesy of August Johnson. A great time. A bit of a blur, hope this is accurate.

Frothy/earthy/brambly body, it’s a neutral type of acidity, doesn’t linger but you sense it, funky bite, borders between wine & beer

Has a balancing sweetness to the signature tartness of the style. Much more approachable than other flemish reds Ive had. Not bone dry either which helps me being able to drink this bottle solo.

More refined than any Flemish Red I’ve had before (though it has been a long time for me). Acidity is there but balanced. Not sweet, unlike most in the style. Earthy almost coffee notes. Interesting and unique beer. 500ml, 8.5*
