6 years in the bottle and this has held up so well. Its mellowed out. Some of that sweet bourbon has dropped off. It’s Smokey, oaky, bags of liquorice all sorts & soy sauce. The thick oiliness has given way to a smoothness. Still a solid 4.5!

The OG batch from Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. I got enough free pours to fill a thermos flask and then added yeast & sugar to re-ferment in a few bottles. Tasting amazing!

I’ll probably still be checking this beer in flavourably in 2050. A lot of dark fruit (fig, raisin, cherry), vanilla, chocolate and coffee. The barrel is developing: deeper smoky whisky notes now; less bourbon sweetness. Oaky and smoke.

My favourite beer from the 2017 Beavertown Extravaganza, so I’ve broken out the official glassware 😂 Bottled May 2018 and has held up extremely well, even though the bottle says the ageing potential was only 2 years.
