Retorto was born due to the will of Marcello Ceresa, graduated in food science at Università Cattolica in Piacenza (Italy), after some years of experience working with other brewers in northern italy area. The name comes from a little town up in the valley where the brewery operates (Podenzano). At the beginning (2012) we started with four kinds and further in the first year we launched other two beers and a little later our barley wine, called Malalingua. Selected as best new brewery in italy by Ratebeer and winning the first prize in the italian tasters association contest, Retorto is becoming one of the most important small breweries in Italy.
Actual production is about 30K gal/year, plant capacity is suitable up to 45K barrels/year Show Less
