Hoppy Times is a classic West Coast IPA with some modern flare. We don't beat you over the head with giant bittering additions. Bone dry attenuation, and water chemistry favoring sulfates helps deliver the balance we achieve. We then pass those hop savings right back to you in the form of late kettle or dry hop additions. Palisade, Citra, Cascade, and Chinook come together for an orange and pine party with subtler aromas of lime, grapefruit rind, pineapple, and apricot. If this beer isn't hoppy enough, it's you not us. This beer is ALWAYS 21 days or younger in our taproom.

What the hell is "craft lager" anyway? Why is it so frequently tied to a bland and boring beer? Let's stop mailing it in, and half heartedly making swill and trying to pass it off as "craft" because a small brewery made it. How about if we wanna make a "craft lager", we actually CRAFT a LAGER! Rant over, wish granted. The Ringer is our meticulously hand crafted, take on a traditional German style Pilsner. All pilsner malt with a touch of Munich, to add a little bit of rich toastyness to that crisp and snappy malt flavor that sits as an elegant & graceful backbone for beautiful hop bouquet. Spalt Select & crystal are sprinkled through the boil for the modern, yet familiar noble hop character. At the end of the boil, we bring those two back and add a larger dose of Mandarina Bavaria for a touch tangerine. Modern yet traditional. Crisp and effervescent. Easy and nuanced. One then another. Everyone loves to joke about beer for breakfast, while we prefer to take it seriously. The goal here is simple; make a beer that will go with a meal at breakfast. Coffee was a no brainer, as was getting our coffee from our friends at Mothership coffee roasters. Next, we added oats, literally the same rolled oats you’d find in oatmeal and breakfast bars. Followed by a couple different types of malted wheat (cereal and toast), lactose (the sugar found in milk), with a touch of smoked malt (adds a savory quality you’d get from bacon or grilled ham). Finally, we mash a lot of roasted and chocolate malts to layer coffee, brownie, cocoa, and milk chocolate qualities.
Mash all of this together, and it’s glorious. A rich and savory imperial stout with loads of dark chocolate, brownie crusts, and coffee…….Also, did you know this shit was almost called “Party all Night”...? Read Less

The concept for Big Blind was simple. Get some aggressively fruity hops, let them mingle, then serve the beer in it’s raw, unfiltered form. So we grabbed the following hops and had ourselves a good ol’ time. Mosaic, today’s superstar hop named for it’s dynamic and diverse array of tropical fruit characteristics. Mandarina Bavaria, a newer hop from Germany nicknamed “the tangerine machine”. Amarillo, the most senior hop, known for giving off ruby red grapefruit and fruit punch characteristics. Finally, Denali, the baby of the bunch. Denali is a new variety with extremely high oil content (the stuff that contains all the goodies) that displays quite a bit of pineapple.
Together these hops are pure awesomeness. Most notably, huge flavors reminiscent of pineapple and lime lifesaver candies, with a wide variety of citrus aromatics that you could only get at the grocery store. Subtler tangerine and pineapple flavors soften a resinous characteristic. All of this wraps up with a giant finale of flavor that is pure grapefruit pulp.
Hops alone do not make a beer, so some special finesse went into the grist. Golden Promise and Pilsen malt make up the backbone of the grist, with a bit of white wheat and dextrose as finishing touches. This makes a unique, mellow, and delicious wort for our yeast to chew through and the hop load to nestle into.

“Garbage idea to put a team in the desert” was one of the many insults flung at the Golden Knights franchise coming into this season. As children we learn that “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”. So, like any professional, the Knights brushed off all the hate, and stay focused on the goal in front of them. The more trash that came out of people’s mouth, the harder they focused, practiced, and played. And here we are, the Stanley Cup finals, suddenly it’s awful quiet! This is similar discipline we keep here at Bad Beat, we don’t get caught up in the nonsense, we keep on the grind, and stay focus on consistently presenting and producing the finest beer we can.

Amarillo and Vic Secret hops face off throughout the hot and cold side of brewing this beer, and these two put on a rollercoaster of a show! Heavy melon and fruit punch dominate the flavor and aroma with grapefruit rind, orange, pine, tropical and floral notes on a more subtle stage. One of our favorite pale malts, English Pearl, provides the rink for the hops to skate upon, along with some carapils, wheat, and a small percentage of rye for a crisp and delicious malt profile. As a general rule, crystal malt and hops don’t work well together…...but rules were meant to be broken, and with our Imperial Red, Dead Man’s Hand, we smashed that rule into a billion little pieces of hoppy toffee goodness. In the brewery, putting these two ingredients together can feel like walking a tightrope, with no safety net. A little too much one way or the other, and down we go. With the right hops, malts, and some finesse we combine and create aggressive flavor, robust aroma, and dangerous drinkability.


Aggressive flavor stems from a healthy dose of dark crystal malts and hop bursting with the bold American hops Simcoe, Nugget, and Denali. Robust aroma from the large dry hop charge, and dangerous drinkability…..this beer is 9.2%, and there’s a real good chance  you did not know that until you read this sentence.

In a former life, Gutshot was simple and subtle. An exemplary take on an Irish style dry stout. Dry and roasty, with hints of coffee and cocoa. Gutshot 2.0 dives deeper into the coffee realm, while still maintaining the essence of subtlety. In the kettle, we add more than a generous amount of lactose. Making Gutshot even creamier while giving the impression of iced coffee. Post fermentation , we add a modest addition of locally roasted coffee and a little bit of vanilla beans. The small coffee addition makes the aroma pop and turns up the dials on those coffeeish flavors already there from the roasted barley and chocolate. The vanilla beans add another layer to this concoction, and to be honest, they just smell out of this world AWESOME! Read Less

A huge aroma profile comprised of peppery phenolics, orange & apple esters, and gently toasted oak that has slowly been seeping into this beer while it patiently waded inside of chardonnay barrels. As you taste everything your nose told you about (and then some) you'll again find yourself perplexed. How is this beer so light, dry, and crisp? The Long Night comes for us all. This savory super stout is a chocolaty beast of complexity. With it’s aroma of bourbon and molten chocolate, you’ll have no doubts that this beer spent 8 months inside of bourbon barrels. Flavorwise, the barrel characteristics are much more nuanced. The bourbon provides a warming finish and aftertaste. The charred oak gives gorgeous vanilla and spice flavors that intertwine stupendously with all the layers of chocolate the base beer brings to your glass.


Chocolate is a prominent flavor component in lots of food and drink...and we undoubtedly covered our bases with this Imperial Milk stout. The Whale is all about malt, more so, how much malt we could stuff into a mash tun, followed by how much rich and delicious liquid we could then squeeze out of that. What you get is a tremendous amount of flavor complexity with a rich and warm color. Creamy toffee, butterscotch, and caramel flavors….all that while using zero caramel or crystal malts. This may sound like a tough liquid to swallow, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the smooth and mellow mouthfeel. The whale finishes with a bit of alcohol warmth, as pleasant reminder that you’re drinking a strong ale. Read Less

Adding lactose to an IPA sounds crazy, but so did sending humans into space, the internet, and deliberately brewing and serving a murky beer. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is a vast, wonderous and mysterious place. Humans have been pondering at the stars for-literally-ever, and it’s easy to place that wonder and amazement we get looking at the stars into things we do here on planet Earth. For us, that is beer, and hops are the stars in our little slice of the universe. So when we had the chance to get our hands on some Galaxy hops, we thought it fitting to include other parts of the cosmos as well, like an older hop that has found new life, Comet, and milk sugar, lactose. With the creamy/milky sweetness from the lactose, we knew we had to be a little more heavy handed in the hops department. Thus, we added just under 4.5 pounds of Galaxy and Comet hops per barrel of beer…. (at a 3 to 1 ratio favoring Galaxy of course). What we got, is an IPA as unique as the galaxy around us. Beautiful and gigantic notes of sweet grapefruit, fruit punch, peach, and citrus rind just explode out of the glass and will tingle all your tastebuds.

If there's one thing you can count on, it's change. Everyone is always asking what the next big thing will be....."what's the next IPA?" Turns out, it's IPA! Well, kind of. Some looney tune decided to edit the Wikipedia entry for how to make West Coast IPA (citations needed, of course), and basically play opposite day. Neutral, high attenuating yeast? Nope. Let's use yeasts that kick off a lot of character and mouthfeel! Simple grist of majority pale malt & maybe some simple sugar? Lame! Let's go for bold, kilned base malts and A LOT of high proteins adjuncts like wheat or oats. Aggressive bittering additions?....How about zero bittering additions!?! Brilliant clarity? Naw, let's make 'em think we are serving this right through the trub pile!.... All jokes aside, there are some awesome hops that give off some mind blowing aromatics. We dedicate this liquid display of excess to Citra, and all its tropical danky goodness. Maris Otter & oats comes along for the ride, with London III yeast tying it all together. Hoppy, hazy, heavenly. Cheers!

We obviously love beer, but sometimes we like to switch it up. Our switch up of choice...champagne! To be honest, one of the things we ask ourselves when making a new fruited gose, is if it will make a good beer-mosa or not. So naturally we had to create Gose Mosa with tangerine and grapefruit!


This little gose starts with a simple base of pilsen malt and malted wheat. We then start fermentation with some lactobacillus and an especially fruity yeast, then finish off with a good amount of tangerine with a little bit of grapefruit. The finished product has an aroma that’s somewhere between orange juice and creamsicle, with a tart and crisp flavor to match. Read Less

Power. Wisdom. Courage. The three pieces of the triforce, and whoever wishes to wield it  must have these three traits in perfect balance with one another.


Simoce. Galaxy. Olicana. The three hops making up our triforce. Each from a different continent, but each containing similar and complementary characteristics to each other and this style of beer. Passionfruit, mango, peach, grapefruit rind, and melon are all striking flavors and aromas you won’t be able to miss!


Triforce is a heroic hazy of legendary portions. Incredibly tropical and stone fruity all throughout, with a downright evil drinkability for the 7.5% abv. The grist (although overshadowed by the 5.5 lbs of hops per barrel) gives a beautiful fresh baked bread flavor, a silky, creamy, juicy mouthfeel, and a crisp finish.


It’s dangerous to go alone, drink this!
