Request a Demobigtallgoof is drinking a Salt Dock Jump by Trestle Brewing at The Gaybourhood
Not what I was expecting. Dry, earthy, effervescent/floral, peppery, salty, a little funky/cheesy with a tartness reminiscent of very underripe strawberries & peaches when they’re painful to bite into. Second saison I’ve had lately leaning to table beer.

bigtallgoof is drinking a Paddy O'Beer by Great Lakes Brewery at The Gaybourhood
This tastes like a pub beer. Like, they actually ran it through a pub line before throwing it in a can. Muted maltiness, a bit musty, old-school British beer hops, caramel & a little copper. Pretty flat which just adds to the pub experience.

bigtallgoof is drinking a Shining Through by Great Lakes Brewery at The Gaybourhood
Great cause, kinda hohum beer. Picking up some corn and vegetal properties that aren’t on the refreshing side of things. Just not diggin’ this lager.

bigtallgoof is drinking a Miranda Farmhouse Ale by Great Lakes Brewery at The Gaybourhood
Dry white wine, grape must, saison yeastiness, peach, oak & lemon. A super nice farmhouse/table beer. Perfect balance of funk, dryness & tart.

bigtallgoof is drinking a M31 Nembus by Wellington Brewery at The Gaybourhood
Blueberry & lemon are subtle but they’re there. Lemon adds a bit of lemon twist cocktail zing to the bourbon but the malts turn that into a liquor filled chocolate. All the stouts in this series are aces.

Earned the Sky's the Limit (Level 89) badge!bigtallgoof is drinking a Meanwhile... Down In Moxee: New England IPA by Great Lakes Brewery at The Gaybourhood
I’m pretty sure I’ve had this before but I guess I didn’t check-in. Says New England & it looks pretty murky but I’m getting a lot of old school piney hops. In all honesty, I’m quite happy with that. Fairly dry, with citrus pith, vanilla & almond.

Pretty tart with a fair amount of salt making it taste like a grapefruit margarita. I can’t complain about that, especially on such a beautiful afternoon.

bigtallgoof is drinking a Todd Is An Absolute Beauty by Refined Fool Brewing Co. at The Gaybourhood
A pretty standard east coast hazy. Citrus juiciness. It’s fine.

bigtallgoof is drinking a Watermelon Beet Sour by Mascot Brewery at The Gaybourhood
Quite refreshing. Watermelon is there but the sourness overrides it. It’s so hard to coax watermelon flavour through in beer without going completely artificial. I think the beet just adds sugariness (not a bad thing here). Coolerish.

Earned the Super Style: Sour - Fruited (Level 8) badge! Earned the Fruits of Your Labor (Level 61) badge!bigtallgoof is drinking a Downtime by Lake of Bays Brewing Company at The Gaybourhood
Bright & tropical. Pineapple, kiwi, lemon, grapefruit zest, a hint of coconut & underripe banana. Thin body but it works with all the juicy flavours.
Purchased at Lake Of Bays Brewhouse
bigtallgoof is drinking a Lake Ontario Keto IPA by Something In The Water Brewing Co. at The Gaybourhood
Light bodied and leaning left. Pine, grapefruit pith, tangelo & lime zest. A fair bit of bitter bite.
Purchased at Something in the Water Brewing Co.
Earned the Session Life (Level 17) badge!bigtallgoof is drinking a Pale Ale by Grand River Brewing at The Gaybourhood
Caramel, grapefruit, spruce, baguette & ripe honeydew. A true APA… malt-forward, bright, slightly sweet, fruity, floral & not overly bitter. Not an easy style to keep away from IPA territory but I love when it’s nailed like this one. So enjoyable.

bigtallgoof is drinking a M31 Mirach by Wellington Brewery at The Gaybourhood
Neopolitan ice cream with a splash of bourbon. Flavours work really well together. Decadent.

Earned the Imperial Czar (Level 13) badge!bigtallgoof is drinking a Sheesh Cake - Passionfruit by Prince Eddy’s Brewing at The Gaybourhood
A little peculiar, but fun. Passionfruit is puckering & drying & doesn’t quite work with the lactose. Prickly pear, watermelon rind, star fruit, vanilla & a musty used book store.

Earned the Pucker Up (Level 88) badge! Earned the Dessert Time! (Level 10) badge!bigtallgoof is drinking a Blanche De Caledon by Caledon Hills Brewing Company at The Gaybourhood
Definitely has a Unibroue character. Banana, clove & coriander. Fresh, balanced, yeasty, a bit citrusy(orange zest) & peppery. Really digging this.

Earned the Heffenista (Level 17) badge!bigtallgoof is drinking a Lil’ Piney by Lake of Bays Brewing Company at The Gaybourhood
That’s a seriously freakin’ delicious light westy. Further proof that my taste buds love Amarillo. Pine, grapefruit pith, clementine & pomelo. Let’s see if the Raptors can break this 12 game losing streak. 🤦♂️

Earned the Pale as the Moon (Level 79) badge!bigtallgoof is drinking a Fuzz Face by Collective Arts Brewing at The Gaybourhood
I can be sensitive and unimpressed when citra is the focal point of an IPA but this is quite tastefully done. It’s not just a grapefruit & ammonium overload, I’m getting stone fruit, berries & delicious celery & parsley notes. ABV is dangerously hidden.

bigtallgoof is drinking a Double Tempest (Limited Edition Rye) (2020) by Amsterdam Brewing Company at The Gaybourhood
Identical tasting notes to Dec 2020 but, perhaps, starting to thin just a bit with aging. Got it? Drink it now while it remains a perfect beauty.
Purchased at Amsterdam Brewery
bigtallgoof is drinking a Sasquatch Schnitzel by Kichesippi Beer Co. at The Gaybourhood
Has lots of Vienna lager characteristics but something ain’t right and I think it’s butyric.
Purchased at LCBO
Excellent buttery/caramel Czech flavour with just a touch more grassy nip. Really nice malty sweetness, a hint of orange zest, pepper, buttered soda bread & toffee. Yet another Ontario brewery making authentic tasting Euro lagers.
