I am surprised to see this ale is described as a NEIPA and having found it has been brewed with lesser known NZ hops makes me question whether it is a NEIPA. I like the lighter sweeter delicate flavours and find them refreshing but NEIPA no.

I like this sour for not being full on raspberry which means the sweetness is well kept in check. The raspberry has a rather appealing fragrance about it not dissimilar to Parma violets but definitely raspberry.

If this had been a blind taste I think I’d have guessed Beak. As ever with a NEIPA brewed in the UK I just wish it was more American but I guess the chalk cliff water is not pure enough or doesn’t contain enough minerals. It’s still very nice all the same

Very much the traditional Kernel so the ale is quite drying which is surprising considering the Mosaic hop which I checked with the barman. Light bodied non-distinctive citrus flavour and about right as a summer time ale.

Well I seem to remember this is where it all started and I have to say if it tasted like this it must have been one hell of a shock because for a pale ale this is still very full on. Burnt orange bitterness and one hell of a hop kick. Not disappointed.
