Lightning In A Bottle

A sour saison brewed in honor of our anniversary.

Sometimes it feels like we’ve had to catch lightning in a bottle to get through this year. So it’s incredibly special to us that we really did catch Lightning In A Bottle with this celebratory beer.

Our chiller was struck by lightning during fermentation, preventing us from controlling temperature and stalling fermentation. We thought the beer was a goner. But Kyle got it back under control and its primary fermentation — with the new Philly Sour yeast discovered here in Philly by our friend @brusciences — finished strong. A second fermentation with saison yeast lends this sour beer some more traditional Belgian notes if gentle stone fruit. It is joyously effervescent and delightful. Show Less
