Permutation 69

Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew

For Permutation 69, we blended an imperial stout that had spent a year in bourbon oak barrels with an imperial stout newly brewed in stainless fermenters. The result was already delicious, but to add complexity and depth to the flavors of the blend, we added peanut butter, vanilla, and Barrington Coffee.

Out of the bottle, the beer pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a hazel-khaki head. Aromas of freshly baked fudge brownies swirl from the glass along with notes of ground espresso, brown sugar, and peanut butter cups. These flavors deepen on the palate revealing layers of chocolate pound cake, raisinettes, chewy peanut butter cookies, and vanilla-bourbon icing. Underpinned by a touch of oak, Permutation 69 has a luscious, creamy mouthfeel with a rich, full body and rounded smooth finish akin to a peanut butter frappe. Show Less
