Smokey and malty, but you expect that whiskyness but it doesn't appear, it goes a little chemically. It's OK, but a bit of a let down sadly. Canal carousel is a different kettle off fish once you've lost the c's! Whatever tickles your fancy, go for it.

Fun to try a new prayer ale, this one Scottish. Sampled at the brewery during my brief visit in 2023. Pours dark amber, dense smoky aroma. Nice sweetness offsets the smoke.

Sweet peat aroma. Subtle ‘not-quite smokiness’ with added complexity the develops on the palette and lingers in the aftertaste. Aromatic and unique.

Light peat/smoke malty aroma that only hints at the flavours to come. Quick slightly sweet malty taste, then smoky burnt peat with a hint of gasoline. Aftertaste is smoky and leaning bitter. Have a feeling it may have more appeal for whisky drinkers.
