In Belgium it is common for Brewers to name their Strong Golden Ale with references to the Devil, reason behind it some say the beer is so strong that the people when drunk start seeing things. On the other hand, though, there is no such a thing for the Darker versions, why!? This question remains unanswered. The Trappist monks would rather give the beer a number, usually within 6 to 10 (an old wort sugar content measurement). We decided we needed something new, something unique. Some sort of combination of two methods perhaps? Our Belgian Dark beer would be named after a God, or a Saint, whatever our pick was J.C., but how to name a beer after J.C.?
