Loosehead

Rugby and beer; a great combination... unless you’re playing, of course! Designed for the rugby enthusiast, this golden beer has the perfect balance of hops & bitterness to compliment your rugby day out.

We've created this beer using our experience of operating real-ale bars at Twickenham and listening to what rugby fans want... and buy! As a result, Loosehead has slightly more aroma than usual to give a good nose even on cold winter days. We found ABVs below 4% weren't so popular, so we've brewed this beer with a slightly higher ABV that you'd expect from a golden ale but it's still very easy drinking!

We gave Nigel Barden (BBC's Radio2 food & drink guru) a sample of Blackpit's Loosehead. His notes we as follows:

" Mid to light brown in colour & on the nose it’s enticingly butterscotch with a touch of barley sugar. There are caramel notes on the palate with a hint of sweetness. On the finish you’re left with plenty of citrus & floral notes, underpinned by a lingering hit of bitterness " Show Less
