Secret Ballot

An historical style originating around Louisville, KY during the time between the civil war and the start of Prohibition in January of 1920. The recipe was all but lost when Prohibition was repealed in December of 1933 due to nearly all area breweries never reopening. Three major breweries did reopen, but were focused almost completely on lager brewing and had no interest.
The name comes from the fact that Louisville was the first locality in the entire country to adopt a private, or secret voting ballot.
Expect a lively carbonation, slight sweetness from a large portion of corn in the recipe, and although it looks like a ‘dark beer’, it is very light and approachable. Show Less
