Emancipation Lager

This beer celebrates Juneteenth and supports BIPOC scholarships in the brewing industry. All proceeds, apart from raw material and packaging expenses, will go to the Many Faces Initiative. which provides internships for People of Color in the brewing industry.

Our esteemed brewer (and Many Faces alumnus) Austin Bethea took the lead on this South African-style pale lager. Emancipation is inspired by Castle Lager, whose style was the first recorded style from Africa (around 1658).

This is a crisp, clean, German-inspired lager brewed with North Carolina, domestic, and German malts, sweetened with a touch of Riverbend Cumberland corn, and lightly bittered with South African hops. The perfect beer for any outdoor Juneteeth celebration or gathering.
