Last night. After breathing, I guess, clean, dark-roasted coffee, hints of anise and vanilla. Plain oak flavor. Only very mildly sweet, a heavy bourbon flavor. Sherry notes would be a stretch. Seemed more balanced this time.

Got this from RBC in 2020, I think. Aged in hopes of caramelization and Sherry notes. No sherry to me. Clean beer worth liquor, not even deep bourbon, dark-roasted coffee, hints of anise and vanilla, mild sweet malt. Rating today independent of my 2016.
