Hazy, big fluffy head. Massive fruity nose… apricots, stone fruits. Thiols doing the work in this one! Finished a touch bitter… might have sat on hops a but longer than i wanted. Im still super impressed with how fantastic this turned out!

Finally opened a stout flakes… and im more impressed than the first bottle. Huge head, lingers. Chocolate and dark malt, fig like, star anise… flavor is “spiced”. Though i cant pick each one out (yet). Vanilla? Yeah. Not sure about the maple bourbon…

First pour is gorgeous. Light straw , clear, thick, foamy, fluffy white head. Vague fruit nose. First sip is medium full with more fruits, some funk, crisp full finish. It’s improved since bottling.

4 years out… the mellowing has helped. There’s a Nelson like white wine nose, crisp herbal hop bite that lingers but the aggressive bitterness has faded. Honey like malt melds we’ll. Still hoppy and bitter but better than years back.

Nice head on first pour, fades as you drink. Smoke is ever present. Sweet malts and vanillas from the oak, a wave of hops and then big Smokey finish. Peat fans will rejoice!
