Hoho, yessir that is good stuff! Sort of like a licorice macaroon, sweet with some almond butter flavor. Strong but not boozy and the barrel-aging gives it some dryness but not woodiness or tannic character. Top notch stuff!

Licorice from the malt definitely pops, works very well with the coffee flavors believe it or not. Quite a good beer to crack open on a crisp Michigan afternoon.

Thick and strong but not syrupy. The coffee flavor is intense but it's tempered by notes of raisin and bourbon. It's surprisingly sweet though, but that sort of mellows out as it warms and bitter coffee flavors become more pronounced.
