Resolve by Cape May Brewing Co.

David W is drinking a Resolve by Cape May Brewing Co. at Lockheed Cafeteria

A hoppy kellerbier with the proceeds going toward Ukraine relief. Drinks like a very light pale lager without any earthiness, grain or herbal notes that usually attend the style. There's an out of place caramel note which makes the beer kinda flabby

Hudson Valley collab. Intense peach and a clean light body but the vanilla marshmallow overhang is a bit much. Both these brewers make fantastic sours so why the need to dump a ton of lactose in the beer?

Wedge Issue: Bravo | Lotus by Carton Brewing Company

David W is drinking a Wedge Issue: Bravo | Lotus by Carton Brewing Company at Lockheed Cafeteria

Smells like a field of orange blossoms but instead of going tropical, the sip is all spicy hops over a plush, heavily oated frame. Medium to full bodied. The back end brings a floral and decidedly non-bitter finish. Subtle vanilla note too. Very unique.

More than any of Carton's other beers (other than perhaps Sakura), this beer just screams Spring.

Larry by Carton Brewing Company

David W is drinking a Larry by Carton Brewing Company at Lockheed Cafeteria

This year's batch is super tart, probably the sourest one to date in the Highlander series. Sour green apple upfront with a nice cantaloupe note on the back end and a heavy dose of mouthwatering salinity. Bright, zippy and delicious

Love Tonewood but selling six month old cans over the bar at the Oaklyn tasting room is pretty weak.

After 2 1/2 years in the barrel and nearly 3 years in the cellar, the Brett is front and center. Lemon & apricot quickly turning to a sharp plasticky Brett finish. Prove me wrong but CM makes some of the best sours around and certainly the best in Jersey

Pirouette by Hudson Valley Brewery

Sour lime with a guava backing which cuts some of the acidity. Slightly thicker body then you would expect. The hops barely break through the tartness. Finishes with a nice dose of salt.

Reserve Sundae 2021 by Carton Brewing Company

David W is drinking a Reserve Sundae 2021 by Carton Brewing Company at Lockheed Cafeteria

Carton's excellent cognac aged ice cream stout blended with a bourbon stout. Milk chocolate, vanilla, and luscious cherry surrounded by big warming barrel notes. Silky smooth. As good as this is one year out, it's going to get even better.

Less Dots (batch 2) by Jester King Brewery

David W is drinking a Less Dots (batch 2) by Jester King Brewery at Lockheed Cafeteria

Black currant wild ale from Jester King. Juicy red raspberry and cherry over a bright and zippy pale oat and barley frame. Moderately tart with just a hint of funkiness. Tastes like sunshine.

After the week I had at the office, a lager ain't gonna cut it. This is a bruiser at 10% with pretty red berry notes up front over a light oat body but the heat is just lurking under the surface.

Árbi by Väsen Brewing Company

David W is drinking a Árbi by Väsen Brewing Company at Lockheed Cafeteria

Silky raspberry and tart green apple over a creamy body. Touch of vanilla from the foeder and a soft Brett finish. Fantastic stuff. Wish I laid down a second bottle as one year is the sweet spot for this one.

Thieves Oil by Carton Brewing Company

A definitively non-hazy dubbel. Remember those? Pretty traditional with nice banana esthers and a touch of burnt sugar with a dose of cinnamon to brighten things up a bit.

Super solid kolsch with a slight yeasty fruitiness. Instead of going all floral, it finishes with notes of tart pear, lemon and a nice nutty earthiness. Really digging this.

A spiced dubbel? Not your usual springtime offering. Malty as heck with a bit of cinnamon and clove lightening things up. Very food friendly. Reminds me of a lighter version of Decoy.

So heavily oated it has the nose of a milkshake ipa, even without any lactose. Fluffy mouthfeel with an interesting passionfruit cotton-candy note from the trident hops. Finishes a bit hot with a dry, sauv blanc note. Interesting but at 10%, 1 is enough

Bit of the Craic by Carton Brewing Company

David W is drinking a Bit of the Craic by Carton Brewing Company at Lockheed Cafeteria

Bone dry Irish stout. Powdered cocoa on the nose but the sip brings all roasty, charred, almost peaty malts. Even getting a dry cedar note. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more flavorful stout at 4%. Good stuff.

This batch is lighter and has an almost airy mouthfeel which works great in a lager but I like my pilseners to have a bit of brawniness to them.
