Thought the coffee would be more prominent but as Derek H. points out, it was just aged on whole beans...not an adjunct or even ground. Smart!! Sweet. Not as much pepper as I thought, either. Still very enjoyable. Especially with Derek H. & Alyssa B.!

Whelp...It's Christmas Eve!! We made it! And this is the last of the Advent Calendar-o-Beer. We finish with a Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrel Aged stout that's thick and syrupy sweet and full of amazingness. Sometimes BBAs come off too strong but this is good!

So I've heard of Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus, but I'd never heard of Saccharomyces or Pediococcus, which this beer ALSO employs. Dunno. This might be the best sour I've ever had?? Not fruited, so there's no additional sweetness from that. Pretty good!

Stopped by City Barrel tonight. Door was open but I guess they were closed. Makin' beer they sez, but sold me some anyway. Kudos, City Barrel! Nice DIPA, despite being juicy. And while technically it's Foxtrot *Uniform* the sentiment is the same. FU 2020!

Predominant metallic taste right up front. The rest of the flavors like anise and butterscotch are not really detectable. Maybe some vanilla and molasses? Not sure what sarsaparilla tastes like, so maybe that's the nasty flavor I'm getting? No bueno.

Not my favorite sour, but far from the worst, too. I think I don't mind Belgian style beers if they're sours?? This is a combination of 2017, 2018 & 2019, so...sounds impressive! Or...it sounds like they just poured all the dregs together to make this?

Go Chiefs!! Help out the Packers by beating the Saints!! Sweet & Chocolatey milk stout. Full of flavor & at 8% it's pretty full of booze too. But it doesn't come off that way. When it warms to 50°F-55°F as recommended on the can, it's even better.

Not "rip-your-face-off" sour (sorry Alyssa B.!!) but the one/two punch of brettanomyces & lactobacillus lets you know it's there. Full bodied, for a sour! Feels almost "heavy". Strong raspberries on the nose. Not on the palate. 10% tho!! Wow!! In a sour?!
