Fantastic beer. White & tan head quickly dissipates. Boozy, roasty chocolate nose with a smooth vanilla & bourbon palate. Silky mouthfeel. Clean lingering finish.

Big Beard Belgian by Moo-Duck Brewery

Michael Astfalk is drinking a Big Beard Belgian by Moo-Duck Brewery at Farmhouse Abbey Brewing

Good Belgian nose, small white fluffy head dissipates quickly for a 10% ABV belgian. Nice palate with notes of dates and molasses but it is a bit thin. Finish doesn’t linger long, thin and easy drinking. Little booziness. Needs more body.

Coffe and chocolate pop on the nose as the light brown head of foam dissipates in to oily blackness. It sips heavy and creamy on the palate with more of the vanilla sweet notes shining through with the roasty oak notes hitting before the smooth finish.

Christmas Ale (2022) by Anchor Brewing Company

Michael Astfalk is drinking a Christmas Ale (2022) by Anchor Brewing Company at Farmhouse Abbey Brewing

Good winter warmer that breaks from holiday spices. Aged for a year. Juniper & spice on the nose, hop bitterness and juniper blend with the malty palate but linger on the tongue for the finish. Slow sipping reveals subtleties. Better @ warmer temps.

Master of Pumpkins by Tröegs Independent Brewing

Michael Astfalk is drinking a Master of Pumpkins by Tröegs Independent Brewing at Farmhouse Abbey Brewing

At least this is made with pumpkin - unlike most pumpkin beers - but the palate is heavily spiced, slightly sweet with a bitter finish. Can’t taste the beer that much. Not horrible but not one to get again and again. Once a year tasting is fine.

Beer gets better as it warms up. Dissipating head, spicy nose, maple, vanilla, caramel palate, a finish that will give you heartburn. Boozy. Bourbon blends in, not significant. Unfortunately I got a 4 pack. Might age the rest and see how it ends up.
