Hazy IPA with Fort George & Great Notion

DREAM TEAM HAZY IPA is a collaboration between Reuben’s Brews, Great Notion (Portland, OR), and Fort George (Astoria, OR.) This dream team first brewed together with the 2017 release of Fort George’s iconic 3-Way, a legendary release all three breweries continue to hear about from our supporters.

Dream Team packs grapefruit, passionfruit, white wine, and stone fruit flavor across a very soft, very light, and pillowy hazy IPA. The brew is engineered to drive up the aromatics at 7.2% ABV. Pilsner malt, plus flaked and malted oats, and flaked rice meet Cryo Simcoe®, Nelson Sauvin™, and Riwaka™ hops alongside Citra Incognito®.

Grambrinus pilsner malt, flaked oats and carahell 55 malt in the grist met up with three hop doses in the kettle, including larger late additions and Eldorado and Azacca as dry hops. When we got to talking cereal mashing an IPA with our good friends at Fort George, they got to talking Brut IPA and Fancy Stuff was born! We blended rice and corn with a minimal amount Pilsner malt for a clean, crisp and almost non-existent malt character. This past year we’ve connected with a number of breweries for collaborations. We share ideas to create unique, innovative beers. We spend time eating, drinking, build community, and enjoying common bonds. We can think of no better way to make craft beer.

In the spirit of this, we wanted to make our first anniversary beer through collaboration. We teamed up with our friends at Fort George Brewery in Astoria to create Phantasmic Beasts, an amped up New England Style IPA laced with Phantasm and fermented with Omega's Cosmic Punch.
