This brewery was epic. I miss it. This beer aged perfectly. Was superb. A fitting last beer from these masters.

February Bottle Club beer 5. I think this was my oldest beer (and sadly my last DC beer). Surprisingly held up. The tartness from the raspberries & nibs shone through more than I remembered.

Pour deep dark with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma of strong raspberries, chocolate tart, and caramelized apples. Taste of raspberries, cocoa nibs, and maraschino cherries.

It does what it promises, loads of raspberries (mostly sweet but also a little sourness in the finish). Beyond this dominant taste, there is a light roast, licorice and some sweetness. It is fine but had hoped for a more balanced & nuanced taste profile.
