Boyz-N the Hood

Boyz-N The Hood was the first beer in our “Open-Source Pilot Batch Project.” It came about because we wanted to brew 3 very different beers. A Fruited Beer. A Tart/Sour Beer and an Abbey Single. The base beer is a simple and elegant Abbey Single in the spirit of the beers that many Monks in Belgium brew for themselves, but very lightly hopped with UK Fuggle.
To that Abbey Single, we added some boysenberry puree. The fermentation took off like a ROCKET and the puree turned the beer purple! And we dig it! Then, we worked a little bit of magic and added a crisp and refreshing tartness to the finished beer to make it a PERFECT, crazy drinkable, springtime brew. Show Less
