Captain Shaddock’s

When making Captain Shaddock's we start with a semi dry apple wine. We then maturate it with cascade hops for one month. After maturation we blend in a small amount Grapefruit juice which gives Captain Shaddock's a fun and unexpected flavor. So we thought it was only fitting to name this blend after Capt. Philip Shaddock, a legendary figure who may have invented the grapefruit.As the story goes in the 17th century a Mr. Capt. Shaddock, who was working for the East India Company, Traveled to Barbados where he incidentally cross pollinated two caribbean fruits. Upon his arrival back in The West Indies, He came bearing a new fruit tree.The fruit tree was called the forbidden fruit known today as the grapefruit
