Gold Rush #8 is the cider making collaboration, between Tom Oliver (of Oliver’s Cider and Perry) and Ryan Burk of Angry Orchard, New York, USA.

A full tasting, sparkling 6.5% cider with some residual sweetness, balancing acidity and full-bodied tannins. Carefully selected vintage bittersweet and sharp cider apples from traditional Herefordshire orchards were slow fermented by wild yeasts in old oak barrels and tanks then, after a malolactic fermentation in the spring Tom and Ryan once again met up in Ocle Pychard, Herefordshire to blend this bright, rich cider with an ‘apple skins’ nose, spice and oak cask that gives way to a robust taste with a very satisfying finish. Chill and savour this unique cider with family and friends and celebrate the “family of cidermakers” on both sides of the Atlantic and around the world. Read Less

Gold Rush #5 is the fifth transatlantic cider making collaboration, this time between Tom Oliver (of Oliver’s Cider and Perry) and Ryan Burk of Angry Orchard, New York, USA. Carefully selected vintage bittersweet and sharp cider apples from traditional Herefordshire orchards were slow fermented by wild yeasts in old oak barrels and tanks. The Five Friends are Kingston Black at 60% by volume and is a bittersharp, Michelin at 18%, a soft bittersweet, Yarlington Mill and Dabinett both bittersweets at 9% and finally Foxwhelp a sharp at 4%. The blend is 80% tank and 20% barrel fermented and matured. Harvested from 2018 and 2019.

A bright, copper gold cider. On the nose sweet spicey notes and ripe red fleshed apples as you walk through an orchard in late autumn, crunching wayward apples under foot. Tasting of juicy, over ripe red fleshed apples with spice. Prickly volatiles keep the fruit fresh and the barrel and smoke emerge to give a full mouthfeel. Slight sourness plus the expected astringency and bitterness keep this very moreish. Read Less
