From our Carolina Wild seasonal series: Winner Best Beer-Second Place, 2015 Taste of Hickory. On September 11, 1955, Vicki, a 6-year-old Indian Elephant, escaped from the Airport Amusement Park in Charlotte. For nine days the fugitive pachyderm roamed free. Following recapture, two years later Vicki was sold to Carowinds developer Pat Hall. Hall relocated/resold the wayward elephant to a little-known town northwest toward the Blue Ridge Mountains, a town named Granite Falls. Vicki, due to an incurable illness, died shortly thereafter in Granada Farms Zoo. In 1976 the zoo was redeveloped into a golf course. Today, Vicki rests under the Number Three fairway. With the release of our Peanut Butter Amber, GFB celebrates the free spirit in all of us. This specialty ale is reddish in color, slightly sweet with low hop bitterness. Crisp, smooth, sessionable—peanut buttery!

Gold medal winner at the 2017 Carolinas Championship of Beer. Canis Rouge Blood Orange Sahti - We believe strongly in tradition here at GFB. That includes the traditions of our industry across cultures, and doing what we can to help reclaim and revitalize those that may be at risk of disappearing. With this in mind our Spring entry in our Carolina Wild series of seasonals was designed with the aim to bring back a style nearly extinct in its home country of Finland, and virtually unknown here in the States: Sahti!
Brewed with barley, oats and rye, Sahti is a complex but easy-to-drink beer with a history going back thousands of years. It is made with juniper berries for a light, piney note, and with touches of banana and peppercorn from the yeast, with a lightly acidic sourness that interplays perfectly with the blood orange and ties the entirety of it together. This mélange of flavors is a little sweet, a little sour, a little citrusy, and a lot delicious. In summary: the perfect spring beer. Read Less
