Sometimes a beautiful ESB is exactly what you need. This isn’t one of the best but they get respect for making one.

I think the date on the can is 09/23/23. If so, it’s held up pretty good. It’s not as bright as it once was. Muted stone fruits without oxidation. Props to the rarely reliable canning companies.

A tad sweet for the style but I’m not mad about it. I see another Germany trip in ‘24. Yeah, I’m going to Köln this year.

Mostly cocoa aroma, small, thin head. Like the aroma, the body is thin.

Roasty chocolate. This has everything you want for an easy drinking Porter. Low in alcohol (4.4%) but full on flavor. Small but sturdy head. Really impressed with this brewery.

Honey Beer by Cerveza Ancestral

I am far from knowing enough about Honey Beer to give more than an opinion as opposed to any technical flaws. I like this one. Dry and lightly sweet.

Dry finish. A little sweet but a nice go-to every day drinker.

It’s only natural to look for flaws when evaluating a beer, right? It starts with an acidic aroma. Because I don’t feel like hating on a beer, I won’t go on. I’ll just say aluminum and butterscotch don’t mix well.

Golden brown. Caramel, nuts and sweet corn, slightly bitter. Maris Otter would help but with ludicrous import taxes in this crazy country, not realistic. Beautiful carbonation. Delicious

I loved this beer yesterday so I got more today from one of my favorite beer stores, Mefisto.

Beautiful looking beer. Lasting, white head and soft carbonation. Stone fruits with mango and guyaba. Not aggressively hopped but effective.

My third Ancestral beer and it’s as excellent as the first two. Dry finish with a refreshing, light hoppinness. A tad sweet for the style but impressive.
