Starts out deceptively meh with just subtle tart apple but it's followed by wave after wave of boozy brandy goodness as it warms (be patient)! NC breweries are not well known but incendiary been delivering banger after banger.

Still smooth and chocolatey but much of the bourbon and barrel notes are gone now😓 it did release in late 21 so it's past it's prime...glad this is my 3rd bottle and I got to enjoy it at its peak🤗

Beer Filled Luggage is drinking a Blend One: Maris In Chaos by Timber Ales at Blue Elk Inn

Bourbon and creme brulee burnt sugar with a touch of prune juice on the finish. The barleywine in the blend most definitely shines. Like all stout-wines not named cont b1 I am left wondering "wouldn't the barleywine be better on it's own..."
