Saison Ridge

We got to hang out with Jeff Hunt, head brewer of MadTree Brewing, one of Cincinnati Ohio's fastest growing breweries. Jeff came to Colorado to brew a special collaboration beer with us. The beer, Saison Ridge, is made with Colorado spruce tips, Colorado honey and Ohio spice bush berries that Jeff brought with him.

Jeff hit Colorado and headed for the mountains to spend some time with collab partner Jimmy Walker, head brewer for Breckenridge Brewery at our pub at Breckenridge Ski Resort. After a few days of planning (and there might have been some skiing and beer sampling there, too), the pair trekked to our Denver production brewery to brew Saison Ridge together.

"Both spruce tips and and the spice bush berry can be easily overdone with their very potent flavor profiles," says Jimmy. "We attempted to err on the side of subtlety and keep the beer true to style. Look for a dry, refreshing, spicy and drinkable saison with subtle and complex flavor nuances from these native ingredients...and, of course, the signature hint of bubble gum from the farmhouse yeast!"

The collaboration ale will be available in draft in Colorado and Ohio in late February. Also, taste it in our booth at Collaboration Fest in Denver at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Saturday, March 21st! Show Less
