Request a DemoJared K is drinking a Bourbon County Brand Stout (2015) 14.3% by Goose Island Beer Co. at The East Coast Beer Vault
An infected 10/26/15 bottle aged 8.5yrs. 2yrs ago this was a sloppy cherry sour. 6 months ago it developed into an ass cola. Now? Now, it’s an ass cherry cola, but at least they refunded us.
Jared K is drinking The Abyss (2011) by Deschutes Brewery at The East Coast Beer Vault
Aged 13yrs. Proper cellaring allows for this. Massive lingering head. Rich bourbon, plenty of oak & frankly less age funk, wine, cherry & licorice than expected. As it warms more, slight age showing as I hoped. Good feel. Happy I have more.
Jared K is drinking a 10th Anniversary Collaboration #7 Smoothie Sour by Other Half Brewing Co. at The East Coast Beer Vault
I mean it’s a strawberry lime margarita. So good I guess. #notbeer
Purchased at Other Half Brewing Co.
Jared K is drinking a Bourbon Barrel Plead The 5th Imperial Stout (2011) by Dark Horse Brewing Co. at The East Coast Beer Vault
Aged 13yrs. You know it’s good bc it has wax. Last shared w/ Randall in the Alfred in June, 2013. Miss hanging w/ that guy in NYC. Wonder where he is these days or this very night.🤔 Rich bourbon, smooth, sure age, but good age. Proper cellaring rules.
Jared K is drinking a Curmudgeon’s Better Half (2018) by Founders Brewing Co. at The East Coast Beer Vault
Aged 5+ yes. Nose says bready malt w/ hint of maple. Taste says hint my ass. Blast of maple followed by boozy burn. Loved this as 2009 Nemesis. Only downside is it thins out after the initial flavors. Maple lasts, but weirdly not much malt or burn in end.
Jared K is drinking a Bottle Shop Series: Nemesis (2021) by Founders Brewing Co. at The East Coast Beer Vault
None of these dusty Nemesis’ are safe from me on local shelves. In the words of Daniel Day-Lewis, “You're strong, you survive. You stay alive, no matter what occurs! I will find you. No matter how long it takes, no matter how far, I will find you!”
Jared K is drinking a Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Stout (2011) by Central Waters Brewing Company at The East Coast Beer Vault
Aged 12+yrs. The last time I had this 2011 vintage I wrote “I’m a sucker for age.” That review was 8+yrs ago. Nose suggests some vanilla & bourbon. Aw man. Bready, semi-sweet, light vanilla, slight sweet bourbon burn goodness. It’s a pastry stout now!!
Jared K is drinking a Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) by Founders Brewing Co. at The East Coast Beer Vault
Just over 5yrs old. 2019 was a super chocolate year for KBS & with time stripping away the bitter roast, it’s even more chocolate forward. Smoother & more viscous than I recall. Gotta do a big KBS vertical soon.
Jared K is drinking a Palo Santo Marron (2012) by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery at The East Coast Beer Vault
Aged 11+yrs. Nose is fairly tame w/ oak & no signs of age. Weirdly none. Rich, carbed, tobacco-y, slight sweetness & smooth. This could easily age much longer. Glad I have more.
Jared K is drinking a Burton Baton (2011) by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery at The East Coast Beer Vault
Aged 12+yrs. Nose says age, oak & maybe sweetness is on the way. Wow, dense with heat, toffee, some caramel & tobacco from age. Still has oak. Lost a little carb, but smooth & complex. Aged like a champ. Gonna mess around & post on Insta.
Jared K is drinking a Bottle Shop Series: Nemesis (2021) by Founders Brewing Co. at The East Coast Beer Vault
Someone found more dust collecting bottles in the back of shop. Tobacco, malt, heat. They don’t make them like this anymore.
Aged 5.5yrs. Now, we’ve entered the sweet spot phase which for BCBS lasts for many yrs. Smooth rich bourbon w/ some bite, but really the stars are oak, light caramel & hints of dark fruits. Thoroughly a beer, not a pastry, even w/ bourbon & other tastes.
