6-pack in memoriam tasting Nov-Dec23. Still very much the original Cascade-hopped pale ale, monofocussed on delivering LadyGrey herbal citrus on crystal malt biscuit, finishing dry and gymnast-accomplished. Immensely satisfying in its reliability. RIP

2023, last of the Foghorn Mohicans, 10,2%. Still one of the most drinkable US Barleywines, all resin-hop-polished fruitcake & elegantly buried winterwarming alcohol. Love the suave mouthfilling mass of it.What a devastating loss.Delish.Shame on Sapporo.

Yea this turned out well, more rounded on draught, almost letting those framboises shine with a jammy coulis thickness before tying it closed with that big C puckering dryness. Refined touches of fruitpip bitters and vanilla.

Not clear which vintage. This index is a mess. Unlike this rhubarb lambiek, even if the draught dispensing methods takes away some of that specific zesty fruit character. Sulphurs piercing through the rhubarb. - will Re-revisit bottled.

Bartlebier: This is a hoppy Heller Doppelbock, and pretty accomplished as such witb all its style parameters, like starch & honey, limited nose. Brewery did well not to advertise anything IPA on the front label and ideally shouldn’t be rated as anything ale-like.
