Dark chocolate, molasses, caramel, big roasted malt, some peat, espresso, umami, cocoa powder, prune, some plum, tobacco, slight bourbon, charred oak, vanillin. The age has tempered the barrel a bit, but the beer is still intense from the base. Fantastic

I was gaga about this beer when I first got it. Maybe it hasn’t aged super gracefully, or maybe the hype has worn off. It’s kind of bitter and RIS-like, and kind of chewy. Good, not great.
