Hipsters - the connoisseurs of counterculture and anti-industrialism. A tribe that values time honing their craft and sharing their passion with others, not just toiling away at work to make a buck. They're recognized by their vintage tees, beards, trucker hats, indie-alternative-folk music, beanies, and skinny jeans - driving beer choices and rescuing beer styles on life support. One such style, the American Cream Ale, is making a resurgence. Ours is pale-straw, well-carbonated and balanced, with a biscuity malt sweetness and whisper of citrus notes. We mash-in cracked corn with malted barley, and ferment it in our open fermenter to give the beer its crisp, signature flavor - just begging for another drink.

Because this beer is brewed in an area still dotted with farms and ranches, we felt it was more appropriate to name this beer after Hipster's country cousin - Hickster. Skinny, tight fitting - no, never. Loose, relaxed, husky. Yeah - that's it. Read Less

We are extremely excited to be collaborating with Country Donuts (located in Crystal Lake) and featuring their fantastic donuts in our DAY OLD DONUTS Imperial Milk Stout. The donuts were added to the lauter tun to not only to add some yummy donut flavors but for more sugar for the yeast to feast on. In addition to the donuts, we added milk sugar and cocoa nibs from our chocolate buds at Ethereal Confections into the boil kettle. We also added more cocoa nibs into the conical fermenter (we hope you like chocolate). Finally, the beer was infused with vanilla cream flavor to help hit our recipe target...a Boston Cream donut delight! Read Less

It is our deepest pride and greatest pleasure as we welcome you tonight and now we invite you to relax and just pull up a chair. Scorched Earth proudly presents CINNAMON APPLE FRENCH TOAST. In collaboration with Country Donuts in Crystal Lake we brewed an Imperial Brown Ale, where we filled the lauter tun with fresh apple cider donuts and apple fritters from them on both brew days. The aromas that come from the glass will remind you of sitting in the kitchen waiting for breakfast to be finished with sweet maple syrup, light hints of cinnamon with vanilla and malt. Balanced flavors dance between those of malt and hints of maple, sweetness of caramel, all with a smooth finish with a subtle sweet taste that lingers on your lips.
