This is also has smoked wheat malt for additional complexity. Our Bamberg-style Weiss Rauchbier has a smooth smoky character with a mild sweetness. This darker (dunkel) style has a detectable degree of roast malt in the balance without being robust in overall character. ESB stands for “extra special bitter.” Fairy Stones are found only in rocks once subjected to great heat and pressure, the mineral was formed long ago, during the rise of the Appalachian Mountains. The stones are most commonly shaped like St. Andrew’s cross, an "X,", although found elsewhere but not in such abundance as at Fairy Stone State Park in Virginia! Formed also in Virginia with great heat and pressure, our ESB is a balance and interplay between English-variety hop character and slight caramel malt notes. Medium to high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma are evident. The yeast strains used in this ale also lend a fruitiness to their aromatics and flavor. Read Less
