People in the Cynon Valley, like most places around the world, used to drink really local beer —crafted in one of the many brewhouses of our area.
By 2011 this had all changed. Everyone in the pub I was running drank mass-produced lager. The bland boring global brands dominated. The independent breweries were gone.
So, after a century of decline, I set off on a mission in early 2011— to get people in my valley drinking proper beer again. And while I was at it, create a great independent business that will hopefully grow and create jobs and wealth in my community.
I bought a beautiful copper brew plant, breathed new life into an old industrial unit and got to work making the very best crafted ales. Proper beers, crafted locally with the best hops, finest malts and tastiest flavours.
We don’t take shortcuts. Each brew is given plenty of time and passion. There’s no point rushing something so important.
