HoopTober was put on hold for a few hours at least, as we attended a birthday party celebration in Redwood City. I’ve had this beer at least once before. This was highly recommended as a top 5 IPA by a friend. It’s a solid IPA, but nothing spectacular.

This tasted maltier today than I remember it. I recall liking this one much more in the past for some reason. Sculpin might have been my intro to the San Diego craft beer scene back then. Having this at a baby shower is still a welcome surprise though.

HoopTober is still on hold….at least for a few hours, that is. I followed up Alpine’s Duet IPA earlier with Alpine’s Nelson IPA and myst say that I really like this one. I prefer Nelson to Duet. Maybe this means that I need to delve into more Rye IPAs.
