Fan-fucking-tastic. Just an impeccable beer, absolutely no fault to be found. Hops and booze gently masked by subtle juiciness. Thanks Derek

I love sour beers, but I really love sour stouts, and this is a fucking outstanding one. Every sip of this is just heavenly.

Benjamin King is drinking a Grande Réserve 17 (2012) by Unibroue at Fort Prairie
So dark it’s almost dank, 6 years in the bottle have imparted a very inky, fig sweetness that plays nicely with the subtler Unibroue yeast.

Nice treat to enjoy in the company of good friends. Excellent beer, stylistically on point. Perfect for a hot summer evening.

Excellently smooth and greatly balanced. Immaculate. Guess those French Canadiens are good for more than just poutine and goalies.

Impressive and bit over ambitious saison. Hits all the right notes and doesn’t falter or venture too much. Super drinkable and accessible.
Benjamin King is drinking a Līgo by Bellwoods Brewery at Fort Prairie
A really damn good saison. Unapologetically true to the style and their preference. I like it. Pulls no punches, and delivers big time.
Purchased at Bellwoods Brewery Bottle Shop
Benjamin King is drinking an Either Way: Merlot by MERIT Brewing at Fort Prairie
The combination of the Merlot barrel and the tart booziness of the saison makes this a cool beer.

Haven’t has this in ages, and the rating needed a serious update. What a phenomenal beer. One of the OGs that truly sparked my interest.

Nice beer, I love the style, but there’s something in here that’s just throws it off slightly. Still, solid stuff.

I'll admit, I'm biased to the style, but it doesn't get much better than this. Well made base beer cultivated into a tart satisfying treat.

A classic. Great, as always.
Benjamin King is drinking an Elemental Series Dry Hopped Sour by Category 12 Brewing at Fort Prairie
Interesting and cool beer. The dry hopping really complements the lactic acid and wild yeast to create a complex and layered taste.
Earned the The Great White North (Level 38) badge!Benjamin King is drinking a La Maison by Four Winds Brewing at Fort Prairie
What a great beer. Dry, tart flavour, a great representation of the style, and a great session starter thanks to the 4.5 ABV.
Benjamin King is drinking an Olde Deuteronomy 2011 by Alley Kat Brewing Company at Fort Prairie
Like a really good, thoroughly aged raisin bread. Malt and some carb remain, ample sweetness and heavy AF. Really stood the test of time.
Benjamin King is drinking a Sour No. III - Framboise by Red Racer at Fort Prairie
Had 1 and loved it, but 3 is really giving it a run for its money. The raspberry adds a nice subtle sweetness and really enhances the taste.
Benjamin King is drinking a SCBA Multigrain Pale Ale by Black Bridge Brewery at Fort Prairie
Drinking this beer fills me with a warm boozy pride in the SK brewing community. Fantastic hoppy, citrusy pale ale. Nicely done.
Benjamin King is drinking a Sovereign by Four Winds Brewing at Fort Prairie
Lots going on here. The lactic comes through at the end but can't really pick up the brett added. Still, a solid and intriguing saison.
Benjamin King is drinking a Cloud 9 (Motueka) by 21st Street Brewery at Fort Prairie
Really rad, different taste with the Motueka hops, good balance of butter and sweet, clean yet cloudy, and super easy to suck back.

Marvellously dark and tart, this beer creeps up on you and cascades brightly across the palate like the rolling flicker of Northern lights.
