One of the better rhubarb wild ale's I've had, not too herbal/bitter & still good carb/acidity/funk. Quite refreshing actually

Adi is drinking a Funky Blender Preserves: Blackberry + Vanilla (Double Madagascar Vanilla 3/12/20) by Casey Brewing & Blending at Xavier School
Was a little worried on how flat it was upon 1st pour but did get a lot of vanilla despite its age. Once it opened up, the fruit is less full but also less acidic compared to the other brews I've had but the vanilla balances it out well + complexity!

Very close to the traditional style, funk/ nail polish, lemons, etc. No carbonation though & botanicals didn't jump out on me like I was expecting

Revisiting after 2 years from the previous taste (4 yr. old bottle). Getting more green apple/lime with carbonation still holding on. Opens up more as you leave it in the glass, initially thought the sage would make it a bit herbal.

Getting a lot of coconut & molasses upfront then the booze hits you hard! Probably could've let it age a few years, at least I've got a baseline now.

Private Press Brewing: Consuming closer to room temp is best. When cold the abv really jumps out.

Upfront funk, some blue cheese in the middle, & tartness from the cherry getting a bit much. Quite surprised with a German made wild ale, will probably not let it age next time

Sweet but nothing too pastry, light roast, & high abv is hidden quite well. Only nitpick would be the barrel flavor is quite shy but definitely better than the OG brew. Serving size is just right!

Some vintage RdG for slowdown Sunday! Quite tart when cold but balances out as it warms. Still lots of berry bite/gummies mixed w/ light carb followed by subtle funk & some oak flavors. Flavors linger long enough in-between sips.

11 year old beer for the milestone check-in! Surprisingly held up well & better than the '11 CCK for sure. Still getting the sour cherries with some funk to it & not overly acidic as I assumed. Cheers to more brews!

1st beer of the year & went with a banger! Not as juicy as the pure apricot Moonwalk but the Riesling adds a certain complexity which lingers & blends well with the stone fruits. Still has the creamy characteristic Bofkont is known for!

Opens up more after 10-15mins being in the glass.. getting lots of green apples & lemon but a little bit more malty than the other HF farmhouse ales I've had. Nursing it while I'm babysitting on boxing day!
