Request a DemoSteve Holoien is drinking a Drying Wishes by Fieldwork® Brewing Company at White Oaks
Brewed with rice, this West Coast IPA has a dry crispness, in the direction of a lager. Centennial and Citra hops not overdone in the flavoring, but still leaving great aromas: hoppy pine resin, subtle tropical sweetness, and even some dank. I’m a fan.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Chonk Strawberry, Cacao Nibs, And Coconut by Drekker Brewing Company at White Oaks
Mmm, chocolate and strawberry blending perfectly here. The coconut adds creamy smoothness, but the coconut flavor is pretty muted. Can date not readable.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Wandering Into the Fog (Galaxy) by Abomination Brewing Company at White Oaks
Quite sweet; juicy and citrusy. Nice tangy tangerine, plenty of pine.
Steve Holoien is drinking The Gift of Comfort (Batch 3) by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales at White Oaks
Fizzy delight. Subtle, dry flavors. Meyer lemon and rosehips. Aged in white wine barrels, adding dryness. So delicate and beautiful.

Steve Holoien is drinking an eight.1 by Alvarado Street Brewery at White Oaks
I’m loving this 5.6% APA. Big, prominent hops impact from Simcoe, Mosaic, and “Pop” hops influences. Grassy and beautiful for Alvarado’s eighth anniversary. 5/3/2022 very fresh can.

Actually 14.6% ABV, per 4/5/22 can. From Bargerville, IN. Creamy sweetness like vanilla ice cream with maple syrup. Great dessert beer.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Key Lime Pie by Great Notion Brewing at White Oaks
Excellent interpretation of key lime pie in a fruited sour ale. Vanilla, lime, sea salt and coriander. Great lime pureness, not a lot of crust to the pie, but that’s ok! ✅

Steve Holoien is drinking a Floggy by Drastic Measures Brewing at White Oaks
Third one; far right. Amazing grapefruit and white wine notes. Slight sweetness, subtle tartness.

Steve Holoien is drinking an Oblong by Hop Butcher For The World at White Oaks
Far left. Strata and Simcoe hopped DIPA at 7.5% ABV. The hop butchers delivered. It’s bright, refreshing, and laced with grapefruit juiciness. Medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel.

Steve Holoien is drinking The Trifecta! by Turning Point Beer at White Oaks
Pina Colada vibe in this delicious TIPA. Ant trifle with its 10.5%. Big, rich, creamy mouthfeel and overall a pretty sweet flavor impact. Citra and Sabro hops playing well together.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Mediator by Heater Allen Brewing at White Oaks
“Liquid Bread” for the German monks during Lent. This Doppelbock brings some huge roasty, caramel sweetness. Mediator finishes with a toasty, slight end bitterness.

Earned the I'll Be Bock (Level 5) badge!Steve Holoien is drinking a Hyper Scream by Drekker Brewing Company at White Oaks
Earthy, bitter Norwegian Kveik yeast DIPA. CTZ, Citra, and Vic Secret, plus a little Magnum for the hop spectrum. Some spelt included in the malt bill. Dry and barren, like the ice fields of Fargo, ND.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Join The Tart Side by Ingenious Brewing Company at White Oaks
A cornucopia of fruit varieties liven up this one. I get mostly lime and cherry. Solid, if not spectacular.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Discotheque by Oxbow Brewing Company at White Oaks
First in my flight. 32 months in production, this nice saison is lemony and very bubbly. There’s a hint of pepper and clove. Blend of spontaneous fermentations and barrel aged batches. Refreshing, bright, and funky.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Repeating Symbols by Cellarmaker Brewing Company at White Oaks
Right one from good old SF. Mmm…Galaxy, Riwaka, and Nelson Sauvin hops. Less dankness, a blast of lemon. Hints of clove and pepper. Subtle white wine flavors. 4/18/22 super-fresh can.

Earned the Ales for ALS (2022) badge! Earned the Pale as the Moon (Level 61) badge!Steve Holoien is drinking a Mo' Simcoe by Cellarmaker Brewing Company at White Oaks
Last in my flight. Simcoe (melon and lemon) and Mosaic (piney, dank tropical fruits). I taste some lemon and a fair amount of sweetness. West Coast clean dry mouthfeel.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Double Dank Shake (2022) by Alvarado Street Brewery at White Oaks
Simcoe, Galaxy, Waimea, and Zeus hops. It’s actually pretty sweet. They have added milk sugar and achieved a juicy sweetness. Terpenes but the dank does not explode at me. Medium mouthfeel, interesting pine notes too.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Lodgehouse - Apple Pomace by The Ale Apothecary at White Oaks
Pomace: the peel, core, stem, soft tissue, and calyx (bottom thingie) of the apple. Clay pot spontaneous fermentation with apple pomace and then 2-year barrel aging. High carbonation. It’s super-good, tart and appleicious.

Steve Holoien is drinking a Sutro Suds by Barebottle Brewing Company at White Oaks
Unfair comparison for #2 in flight as top pilsners (for me) barely equate to reasonably good hazy, hoppy IPAs. Motueka hopping lifts this lager up, but the tasty lime zest can’t overcome the bready aftertaste.
Purchased at Barebottle Brewing Company
I taste peach, pineapple, and a bit of candied orange peel. Citra, Galaxy, El Dorado, and Lupomax hops. It’s only a little sweet, and comes with 7.5% ABV.
